A GIFT OF WORDS

book one of THE GIFT TRILOGY

On Cam’s twelfth birthday, he gets to write his name in Libris Sapientia – the book of wisdom. Doing so will reveal his magical gift, which could be anything. Telekinesis like his aunt, Frankie, or the ability to travel through the shadows like his mother, or something entirely unknown. But Cam doesn’t care about his gift. His best friend might have broken someone’s fingers, the class bully won’t leave him alone, and staying under the radar of his teachers is much harder than it ought to be. It’s tough surviving school being the weird kid with the weirder family, and Cam doesn’t need magic to make his life any harder. This is good, because when he does write his name in the book, a whole lot of nothing happens. Figures. He is a failure after all – and even a book agrees. Then Loman Lykill joins their class, and if Cam thought things were strange before, Loman brings a whole new brand of chaos to Highgrove Secondary. Cam has his magical gift, whether he wants it or not.
