Completing the first draft of a manuscript is an enormous accomplishment, but the work doesn’t end there. Getting additional sets of eyes on your work is absolutely essential, whether via beta readers or professional editors. As writers ourselves, we understand all too well the invaluable importance of constructive feedback. No one, not even a person who has numerous published titles under their belt, produces flawless work during the initial drafting process.

Pricing varies depending on your manuscript’s word count at the time of contract.

Rather than a per-word price structure, our editing package, which includes both line & developmental edits, is priced to allow authors without a lot of disposable income to obtain professional feedback without breaking the bank.

Manuscripts with word counts up to 85k are charged a flat rate of $500. If your word count is between 85k-120k, we charge $750. Anything over $120k is $1000.

THE EDITING PROCESS

oNCE YOU HAVE ACCEPTED YOUR hEARTHFIRE QUOTE, we will draw up a contract & send it to you for approval & your signature. Half of the fee is due BEFORE EDITS BEGIN & can be made either via Zelle, which is our preference, or Paypal. The remaining half is due upon completion of edits.

Upon receipt of your edited manuscript, you’ll see comments of all sorts- both what we absolutely loved, & what might warrant a reexamination. We will not make changes directly to your manuscript. All of our edits will be made via comments or in a separate document.
